Learner With Dr. Peet's TalkWriter Without Dr. Peet's TalkWriter
3-Year Old Can learn to read through own experimentation with power words. Must be taught to read -- cannot get constant auditory feedback when trying out 'power words'.
Blind Child Can learn to read, write, keyboard, and word process along with peers through use of special 'double touch' feature of TalkWriter Must be taught letters, keyboarding, reading and writing through drill and tutorial approach.
Child 3-8 with severe physical disability Can learn to read, 'switch-write', and word process through special switch-controlled letter-scanning feature of Dr. Peet's TalkWriter Must be taught to write and read with other special technology not designed for youngest child.
Learner with developmental delay (functional age 3-8) Can learn to read, write, keyboard and word process with friendly, musical, simple interface of Dr. Peet's TalkWriter. must be taught with drill and tutorial approach, which usually has limited results, or with special technology designed for higher developmental levels.
